A war between France and Great Britain breaks out in Europe, which is reflected in the New World by a blockade of French shipping. Though the French colony by now is self-reliant, the lack of French supply ships means the colonists can not import the manufactured trade goods essential to maintain close ties with their Indian allies. Some of the Choctaw invite English traders to fill their need, while the French pressure their most loyal chiefs to resist trading with the English, thus creating a rift within the Choctaw tribal structure.
